Princecraft Lineup

Before we explore this option in greater detail, let's first look at some of the other boats in the Princecraft lineup to give you a better idea of some of the options you're choosing between.

DLX lineup

Princecrafter offers four boats under the Holiday 162 DLX umbrella: Holiday 162 DLX WS MAX, the Holiday 162 DLX WS, the Holiday 162 DLX SC MAX, and the Holiday 162 DLX SC. However, these aren’t the only boats in the DLX lineup.

The remaining three boats in the DLX lineup are:

  • HUDSON® 190 DLX WS
  • HUDSON® 170 DLX WS
  • NANOOK® 168 DLX WS

(Another boat you might consider is the Lund 1650 Angler. We break down the facts about this option for you in this post)

Where the Holiday 162 DLX MAX Falls in the Princecraft Lineup

As for where the Holiday 162 DLX MAX boats fall in the Princecraft lineup? These boats run on the smaller side of Princecraft’s motorized fishing boats. This can be both a pro and con—its 918-pound approximate weight means it’s easier than many other options to maneuver. On the other hand, it also has a lower maximum HP capacity than most other models (60 HP). Additionally, its smaller size means it fits four people, rather than seven like some of the boats in the Sport Series, for example.

Holiday 162 DLX MAX Features

Although this boat in the DLX lineup is considered all-inclusive, there are still some options you can choose to add if you would like. These include different fishing and trolling packages, deluxe seat packages, and downrigger supports.

As we mentioned, this is an "all-inclusive" model. This means many of the features you would otherwise have to customize the boat to get are factory installed and warrantied. However, there are two boats in the DLX MAX series (the SC MAX and the WS MAX), and depending on which one you choose, your boat will come with different features.

The SC MAX includes $2657 CAD of optional equipment. And the WS MAX includes $4106 CAD of optional equipment. Both options include a trailer cover, swing tongue for the trailer, emergency ladder, and electric motor plug. The WS MAX option consists of a few additional features, including a lockable glovebox and a sun top with bimini canvas.

Some other features these boats include:

  • 5052-H36 marine grade aluminum alloy
  • Exterior urethane paint, with black glossy finish including decal package
  • Reverse chine hull design
  • Aluminum clad transom
  • Deep self-draining splashwell
  • Bow mounting trolling motor pad
  • BOW LIVEWELL (34", 61 L / 16 U.S. GAL.)
  • Twin plating from bow to mid-ship
  • Rigging tube under flooring (from console to bow)
  • Rigging tube under flooring (from stern to console)
  • Bow and aft raised casting platform
  • 2- 7 foot rod storage without support
  • 12V bow trolling motor plug and receptacle with wiring harness
  • Trolling motor plug with 50 AMP protection
  • Tachometer, speedometer, and trim gauge

How to Determine if the Holiday 162 DLX MAX is Right for You

A quick way to determine if a boat from the DLX lineup is right for you? Consider the pros and cons. The pros being its relative affordability, versatility, and ease of maneuvering due to its relatively small size for a motorized fishing boat. As for the cons, its four-person seating capacity could be a limiting factor. It also doesn’t offer as much engine power as many other boats Princecraft offers.

The Princecraft lineup has an excellent reputation, and a boat from the DLX lineup is undoubtedly worth your consideration.
